When will CAT-2021 be held? Is there a possibility of it being postponed?
CAT-2021 should be held in November last week. The tentative date for CAT is 28th November-2021. Usually, the print advertisement for CAT appears in leading national dailies across India in the month of July and the official CAT registration process starts on August 1. There is absolutely no reason as of today to postpone CAT-2021. Even CAT-2020 was held on schedule. The table below summarizes probable important dates for CAT:

About CAT Scores-Validity and Cutoffs
The CAT score is available online in the form of a report sheet. The scores are available for each individual section together with the overall score. These scores are usually reported as percentiles. Each IIM shortlists candidates on the basis of CAT scores plus other criteria, such as percentage of marks in 10th, percentage of marks in 12th, work experience, diversity, etc. The students shortlisted have to appear for the PI and a written ability test. Final admission offers are given to candidates after the PI and WAT round.
The CAT score is valid only for one year. Thus, if you appear for CAT-2021, you may apply for admissions for the batch 2022-2024.
List of activities you should start in order to kick-start your preparation
To prepare well and to increase your chances of success in CAT 2021, start with the following activities immediately.
1. Take an actual CAT of the last 3 to 4 years. This will help you identify not only the paper pattern better but also allow you to assess the level of difficulty of recent CATs.
2. Start Reading good material in English. It could be books, magazines, journals newspapers, and even fiction. Just make sure that you read regularly and read varied stuff.
3. Work on your Vocabulary -A good vocabulary might help you understand the written material better and help you improve on reading speed.
4. Revise the basics of Mathematics – CAT never tests you on anything but basic knowledge of mathematics that you learnt in school. Going through basic concepts of mathematics that you learned in 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th is a good starting point.
