Anu, Vinu and Manu can complete a work alone in 15 days, 12 days and 20 days, respectively. Vinu works everyday. Anu works only on alternate days starting from the first day while Manu works only on alternate days starting from the second day. Then, the number of days needed to complete the work is

Explanation
One day work of Anu, Vinu and Manu = 1/15, 1/12, and 1/20
Anu works on odd days only and Manu works on even days only. Vinu works everyday.
Then, work done on odd days = (1/15) + (1/12) = (4 + 5)/60 = 9/60
and work done on even days = (1/12) + (1/20) = (5 + 3)/60 = 8/60
In 6 days 3 {(9/60) + (8/60)} =3 (17/60) = 51/60 of the work is completed
Remaining 9/60 of the work will be completed on 7th day. Thus, 7days will be needed to complete the work.
